Programmes

At International Community Unifiers (ICU), our programmes are designed to address xenophobia and promote unity, peace, and understanding among diverse communities. Our initiatives aim to engage, educate, and empower individuals through cultural exchange, sports, arts, and dialogue. Below are some of our key programmes:
Xenophobia Fighters Awards
The Xenophobia Fighters Awards celebrate individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to combating xenophobia and fostering unity. Since 2001, this prestigious award has honored ordinary people and notable African figures, including:
- The late Mama Miriam Makeba
- Former Zambian President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda
- The late Dr. Eduardo Mondlane
- The late Tanzanian President Mwalimu Julius Nyerere

These awards not only recognize efforts against xenophobia but also inspire others to join the cause.

Voice from Kilimanjaro
“Voice from Kilimanjaro” is a compelling musical stage production that addresses xenophobia through dramatic expression. Recognized by the Southern Metropolitan Council and Human Rights Commission, this production has been staged in townships, festivals, and theatres since 1999. It serves as both an engaging performance and an educational tool, promoting human rights and social justice.
Prayer Meetings
Our annual Prayer Meetings, held every May, unite church communities in seeking divine intervention against social ills and injustices. These gatherings aim to galvanize the faithful to stand against xenophobia and other societal challenges, continually seeking guidance and wisdom from God.
